It's Great to be Eight!

This sweet little girl has hit a huge milestone in her life.  She has turned 8 and made the decision to be baptized.  She was a pure delight to photograph and was so darling in her gorgeous white dress.

Her dad was able to baptize her and I love how proud she looks in this image

She got a new set of scriptures for her special day!

Her hair is so cute and perfect for the occasion

She's got such a great family standing by her

And let's not forget the customized cookies made just for her

Congrats L.  Thanks for letting me be part of your special day!

Photobooth

Recently I threw a mustache bash for my little man.  I decided I wanted to set up a photobooth for all of the guests at the party to capture them with their mustaches.  There were a bunch of props and it was a huge hit.  If you are thinking this would be fun at your next party or event feel free to contact me for more information and pricing.  Here's one photostrip of my little mister:

Mormon Helping Hands

Saturday April 28th 2012 was officially Mormon Helping Hands Day throughout the state of California.  Thousands of volunteers North and South in the sunshine state arrived at various locations to work and do service.  I had the opportunity to photograph at Folsom Middle School where over 200 happy Mormon people (young and old) came together and landscaped multiple parking lot planter boxes.  Many hands made light work and within a few hours trees existed and flowers bloomed where there was only dirt before.  Click {Here} to learn more about Mormon Helping Hands.  Below are a few of my favorite photographs along with some before and after shots.  Check back on my Facebook page to see even more photos.

Mormon Helping Hands Sneak Peek

Here's a little sneak peek from Mormon Helping Hands today.  Check back soon for more!

Secretly I...

... dream of being a sports photographer. Which for those of you who know me well is really a funny thought. The extent of my sporting endeavors is sleeping through the Superbowl once a year. But for some reason being at a live game with a camera in my hand makes me enjoy every sneaker squeaking, pad crunching, bat clinking moment. My husband and I just recently went to a Kings vs Clippers game and I thought I would share two pics. Now-- keep in mind that we had good seats but they weren't courtside. And I also didn't have my normal awesome camera so I know these aren't the best quality and definitely not my best sports shots (I have no delusions about them ever gracing the cover of any sports magazine). But there is still something about them that I love--by stopping the action of these amazing athletes the photos show how talented they truly are. So enjoy these two images, and know that I dreamed about sitting under the basket with my camera doing it for a living... that is until the players repeatedly fell into those poor photographers! I think they broke one of the photographers cameras after a particularly forceful fall. For now I think I will keep my camera in tact and continue taking photos of your cute families!! After all it is much safer that way!

Thank You and Happy New Year!!

As we embark upon a new year I have been reflecting on the events of 2011. This past year has been amazing in so many ways. I wanted to take some blog space to thank all of you who have supported me and my photography business this year. I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of new and wonderful people as well as enjoy the company of old friends and repeat customers. I truly feel blessed to know all of you. Thank you for making my year one to remember. I can't wait to see what next year brings.

Here are a few of my favorites from this past year. Enjoy!

2011 Thanks grid

C.C.'s Baptism

C.C. was baptized a last week, and I was so excited that her mom called me to take pictures. Often at events like baptisms (or birthdays, parties or sporting events) we get so wrapped up in the moment we forget to take pictures (or the pictures we do take don't turn out as we wished). That's where I can step in. We did a little family shoot before the baptism to get some formal photos then I snapped some candids of the guests after the baptism. The event was captured on film giving mom and dad one less thing to worry about.

Here are some of the photos from this special day:

Cameras and Cupcakes

My sweet friend Beth owns a cupcake business called, Little Delights Cupcakes
and I tell you what-- they are amazing! I love to come up with reasons on why I need to order some. She wanted me to take a few pictures of them so she could use them on her website (which you should all check out and order some-- just click here ).

Don't these cupcakes just make your mouth water?

A Big Thanks!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Cal Fit Harvest Fair. It was fun to visit and meet new friends. Here's a few pics of my booth space for those of you who couldn't make it. Lot's of people commented on how beautiful all of my subjects were- and I agreed!

Mini Photography Class

I was asked to teach a mini photography class to some cute girls from my church- what a fun opportunity. I outlined some of the classic photography do's and don'ts and then we headed outside so they could practice their skills. It was so much fun watching them be creative and practice what we had just talked about. Here are a few pics of the night.
